Seven Convicted Drug Smugglers Hanged In Iran

Seven men convicted of drug trafficking have been hanged in Iran.

State media said the men, who were not identified, were executed inside a prison in the western province of Kermanshah.

Prosecutors said they were convicted of procuring and distributing narcotics.

Iran has one of the highest execution rates in the world.

State media on January 1 reported the execution of eight other convicted drug smugglers in the city of Qom.
