Simferopol Residents Rally For Ukrainian Unity

Several hundred people rallied March 7 in the Crimean capital, Simferopol, in support of Ukrainian unity and territorial integrity. The demonstration was held at the monument to Ukrainian national poet Taras Shevchenko. The rally came one day after pro-Russian politicians in the Crimean parliament voted in favor of the region becoming part of Russia and scheduled a referendum on the question for March 16.
