State TV Says Russia Could Turn U.S. To 'Radioactive Ash'

A leading Russian state television anchor described Russia as the only country capable of turning the United States into "radioactive ash." The remarks by Dmitry Kiselyov, recently appointed as chief of the Rossiya Segodnya (Russia Today) news agency, came as the United States said it would not recognize the results of Crimea's referendum on seceding from Ukraine and joining Russia.
