Suicide Blast In Somalia Kills At Least Five People

Officials say a suicide attack at a police station in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, has killed at least five people and that death toll is likely to rise.

Police officer Hassan Ali said he witnessed "a speeding car coming towards us, and it soon exploded."

Suicide attacks have been used by Islamist insurgent in the past in a bid to take down the eastern African country's weak government, which is supported by 8,000 African peacekeepers.

There has been no effectively functioning national government in Somalia for 20 years.
