Security officials say a suicide car bomb has exploded near Somalia's Foreign Ministry in the capital, Mogadishu, killing at least four people, including the bomber.

Police said six people were wounded and taken to the hospital.

The blast on October 18 came as Kenya's ministers of defense and foreign affairs were in Mogadishu to meet with Somali leaders after Kenya launched military operations in southern Somalia against Al-Qaeda-linked militants on October 16.

The blast reportedly occurred several kilometers from where those meetings are believed to be taking place.

African Union and Somali troops fighting al-Shabab militants have mostly pushed the insurgents out of Mogadishu.
