The Afghan Interior Ministry says at least two people have been killed and more than 20 wounded in a suicide bombing in Kabul.

Spokesman Zemeri Bashary said the suicide bomber was riding on a motorbike when he blew himself up next to a minibus carrying Afghan security forces.

A spokesman for the Taliban, Zabihullah Mujahid, claimed responsibility for the bombing. President Hamid Karzai issued a statement condemning the attack.

While violence in Afghanistan is high, attacks in Kabul have been relatively rare. The last major attack in the Afghan capital came last month, when two suicide bombers ambushed a bus carrying Afghan army soldiers, killing five and wounding nine.

Meanwhile, NATO says four of its soldiers have been killed in two roadside bomb attacks in Afghanistan.

Three soldiers died in an attack in eastern Afghanistan today, and the fourth was killed in the south of the country.

NATO did not give the nationalities of the soldiers or the precise location of either attack.

The deaths bring to 15 the number of international troops killed in Afghanistan so far this year.

More than 700 soldiers were killed last year, the deadliest in the nearly decade-long conflict.
