Arab foreign ministers will hold an emergency meeting on November 12 to discuss Syria's failure to implement an Arab proposal to end a crackdown on protests.
An Arab League statement said today that the Cairo meeting was called because of "the continuation of violence and because the Syrian government did not implement its commitments in the Arab plan to resolve the Syrian crisis."
The statement said that a foreign ministers task force which negotiated the deal that Syria signed on to on November 2 will hold a preparatory meeting on November 11.
The announcement came as a British-based Syrian rights group said security forces killed another 10 civilians during antiregime protests today, the first day of a Muslim festival marking the end of the pilgrimage to Mecca.
