Syrian rebels have launched a major assault in the northwest against an airbase the government uses to launch air strikes on rebel positions.
The attack on the Taftanaz air base comes as rebels are seeking to take control of a strategic zone between Aleppo and Damascus.
The attack, shown in video posts on the Internet that cannot be independently confirmed, comes just two days after rebels seized another air base at Saraqeb, some 15 kilometers away.
The United Nations says rebels appeared to commit a war crime after seizing the base at Saraqeb on November 1.
At least 28 Syrian soldiers were killed in the coordinated attacks on Saraqeb and several were shown in video footage being shot after they had surrendered.
