Reports say a man opened fire inside a church in the U.S. state of Texas, killing at least 20 people.
The shooting took place on November 5 at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, a small community about 50 kilometers from the city of San Antonio.
Authorities have not said how many were killed or wounded, but ABC News cited a law enforcement official as saying at least 20 were killed and 30 wounded in the shooting.
CBS News quoted police official Albert Gomez Jr. as saying at least 27 people were killed and more than 25 wounded. Gomez said the shooter had been killed.
CNN reported that the gunman was killed after a short chase.
Wilson County Sheriff Joe Tackett told the Wilson County News that the shooter had been "taken down," but it was not known how the shooter died.
At least six people from the church were taken to Connally Memorial Center in nearby Floresville for treatment.
In the wake of the shooting, U.S. President Donald Trump tweeted: "May God be w/ the people of Sutherland Springs, Texas. The FBI & law enforcement are on the scene. I am monitoring the situation from Japan."
Trump is on a 12-day tour of Asia.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott tweeted: "Our prayers are with all who were harmed by this evil act."
The FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives has arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area.
