Trump Implies Guns Rights Activists Could Stop Clinton Judges

U.S. Republican Party presidential nominee Donald Trump suggested that gun rights activists could prevent his Democratic Party rival, Hillary Clinton, from altering the balance on the country's Supreme Court. At a campaign event on August 9, Trump said supporters of the U.S. Constitution's Second Amendment -- the right to bear firearms -- could stop Clinton from nominating liberal justices. Gun rights supporters say a more liberal Supreme Court would accept laws restricting or abolishing ownership of firearms. Some understood Trump's comment to be a call to violence, but his campaign later said he was only trying to rally Second Amendment supporters to vote for him. (AP Video)
