Turkish Troops Block Bosphorus Bridges As Military Claims To Seize Control

Turkish soldiers blocked off the bridges across the Bosphorus Strait in Istanbul late on July 15. Video footage showed tanks on the highway and soldiers blocking traffic. Military officers broadcast a declaration of martial law and said the military had "fully seized control" of running the country. But Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he is still in power and wouuld put down an attempted coup. (Reuters)
