Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has issued a "final warning" to protesters occupying a park in central Istanbul.
Erdogan, in televised comments on June 13, said police will no longer tolerate the protest camp in Gezi Park, in a corner of Istanbul's Taksim Square.
The protests began two weeks ago against a controversial construction project.
After a heavy-handed police crackdown, the demonstrations escalated into unprecedented protests against Erdogan's authoritarian style and his Islamist-rooted government and spread to the capital, Ankara, and other cities as well.
At least four people died and over 5,000 were injured in clashes between police and protesters.
Hundreds of protesters remained in Taksim Square on June 13 despite an offer from Erdogan's Justice and Development Party to hold a referendum on the controversial construction project.
