Turkish officials say 14 people have died in clashes between security forces and Kurdish rebels in the southern part of the country.
The governor's office in the mainly Kurdish Sirnak Province, which borders Iraq, said on November 13 that Turkish forces killed 11 fighters from the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in the clashes.
It said two Turkish soldiers were killed by an improvised explosive device on a road near the town of Lice, while another soldier was killed in clashes in Van Province.
Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said on November 13 that Turkish security forces will continue battling PKK fighters in the town of Silvan, where a curfew has been in effect for 11 days.
Turkey's Human Rights Association says two members of the country's security forces and seven civilians have died in fighting in Silvan since November 3.
The hostilities come two days before Turkey hosts the G-20 summit for the world's major economies in the southern city of Antalya.
