Earthquake In Western Turkey Leaves Three Dead

Authorities say an earthquake in western Turkey has left three people dead.

One of the victims died after jumping out of a window in panic. Another died of a heart attack.

Dozens of other people were injured, but only one seriously.

The 5.9-magnitude quake struck late on May 19. It was centered in the small town of Simav, in Kutahya province.

It damaged buildings, power cables, and telephone lines and was followed by several aftershocks overnight.
