Turkish Police Clash With Suspected IS Militants

Two Turkish police officers were killed by an exploding booby trap during a raid on suspected Islamic State (IS) militants in the southeastern part of the country.

Officials say seven suspected militants were killed in the October 26 raid, which occurred in the city of Diyarbakir in Turkey's Kurdish region.

A dozen suspects were detained in the predawn operation, which targeted "three or four houses" suspected of being used by IS militants.

The raid may have been connected with the probe into a pair of October 10 suicide bombings in Ankara that left more than 100 people dead. That attack targeted a pro-Kurdish rally.

Earlier Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan blamed Syrian intelligence and Kurdish militants for the Ankara attack, saying they worked together with IS.
