An outspoken critic of Turkmenistan's repressive regime has reluctantly ended his activism after facing threats and attacks in Turkey. From Istanbul, Eziz Mammedov had posted criticism of the Turkmen government on social media. Despite being abroad, he has been beaten and stabbed.
