Noted Turkmen blogger and stand-up comic Muhammed Mammedov has reportedly been beaten to death in Ashgabat after returning from a long stay in Turkey. According to the Turkmen.news website, unknown assailants attacked the 30-year-old Mammedov and his friend late at night on October 4. The blogger's friend sustained minor injuries, while Mammedov was severely beaten and died hours later. It is not known if authorities have launched a probe into the deadly attack.
