TV News Anchor And Women's Rights Advocate Shot Dead In Afghanistan

A prominent Afghan journalist and news anchor has been shot dead alongside her driver as she traveled to work in Jalalabad. Malala Maiwand, 24, worked for the private media group Enikas and was a vocal advocate of women's rights. The Islamic State militant group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Maiwand was the third journalist killed within the past month in Afghanistan.
