A UEFA Nations League match between hosts Netherlands and Hungary at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam was interrupted for about 10 minutes when assistant trainer and former Hungarian national team player Adam Szalai required medical attention on the bench. The Spanish referee stopped the match while medical staff attended to Szalai behind a sheet and with concerned team members and other staff gathered nearby. Play eventually resumed after Szalai was stretchered away to applause from players and the crowd. The Hungarian Football Federation (MLSZ) tweeted that Szalai had fallen ill and had been taken to an Amsterdam hospital for examination. It said "his condition was stable and he is conscious." The Dutch then jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the match.
