Ukrainians Scramble To Evacuate Vovchansk As Russia Advances In Kharkiv Region

Thousands of Ukrainian residents have been forced to flee their homes in the Kharkiv region amid days of heavy shelling and advances by Russian forces. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has called the situation around Vovchansk "extremely difficult." RFE/RL's Maryan Kushnir spoke to locals on May 12 as volunteers from the charity Unity and Strength helped with the evacuation.
