Ukrainian Lawmaker Kholodov Resigns After Leaving Country In January

Ukrainian parliamentary speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk said on July 31 that lawmaker Andriy Kholodov of the ruling Servant of the People party had resigned. A day earlier, Skhemy (Schemes), an investigative project run by RFE/RL, revealed that Kholodov had been out of the country since January and is now with his family in Cyprus, where he owns a property. Last week, another lawmaker of the ruling party, Yuriy Aristov, was stripped of his mandate for leaving the country for almost two months in violation of a ban on males of conscription age leaving during Russia's ongoing invasion.
