When 10-year-old Zahar Shvets fled Mariupol, he could not leave behind his beloved pet parrot, Sonic. Now, along with his mother, Halyna, they have found sanctuary in Montenegro after the owner of an apartment reached out on social media, saying that her own memories of the 1990s Balkan wars prompted her to provide them with accommodation.
