Two people were killed in air strikes on Mykolayivka, a city in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region, late on September 7. The casualties were Ukrainian animal-welfare volunteers who came to provide care for stray dogs and were staying in the Hotel Zorya, their teammate told RFE/RL. Russia turned the hotel into rubble with aerial guided bombs, a local official said.
