'Bring Hope': A New Zealand Chaplain Evacuates Ukrainian Civilians

Owen John Pomana says he was moved to come to Ukraine nearly three years ago after seeing videos of the war. On August 9, RFE/RL filmed as he helped a volunteer evacuation team in the small town of Novohrodivka in eastern Ukraine. Ukrainian forces may have raised morale in the country with their surprise move into Russia, but in eastern Ukraine there's no letup to the grim realities of Russia's ongoing attacks.
