A Ukrainian police officer from Mariupol has returned to service in the embattled Donetsk region after being captured during the siege of the Azovstal steel plant and spending months in a prison camp run by Russian forces.

More than two years after Russian troops seized Mariupol, Svyatoslav Yermonov is now serving in Pokrovsk, another town in the Donetsk region that Moscow is trying to capture. He says he's trying to help maintain order as Russian forces inch closer to the strategic town.
