Gina Haspel, President Donald Trump's pick for CIA director, said she would not execute a morally questionable order from the president, even if it was technically permissible. During her senate confirmation hearing in Washington on May 9, Haspel made the remarks in response to questions about so-called Enhanced Interrogation Techniques (EITs) authorized by former President George Bush. Haspel also denied media reports that she had appeared on videotapes, later destroyed, that showed EITs being performed on a terrorism suspect.
