A U.S. citizen, Cooper Andrews, 26, and two Canadians, Kyle Porter, 27, and Cole Zelenco, 21, have been killed in action around the fiercely contested Ukrainian city of Bakhmut, CBC News and CNN reported on May 1. According to Andrews's mother, her son was killed on April 19, while CBC News reported that Porter and Zelenco died on April 26 after Russian artillery shelled Ukrainian positions.
