The Pentagon says that two U.S. military liaison officers from the Bagram air base in Afghanistan have returned to Pakistan at Islamabad's request.
On May 31, the Pentagon said that, within the last few days, the two officers resumed work at the Pakistan Army's 11th Corps in Peshawar after being expelled in the wake of a border air strike late last year which killed 24 Pakistani soldiers.
Pentagon spokesman Captain John Kirby said the return of the two officers was "another example of how…coordination is going to continue to improve."
