Thousands of people took to the streets of New York City on August 14 to show their support for protesters in the central U.S. state of Missouri. Earlier, police in Ferguson, Missouri, fired tear gas to disperse protesters angered by the shooting death of a black teenager, Michael Brown. The crowd in New York chanted the Ferguson slogan "Hands up, don't shoot." (Reuters)
