Trump Thanks Putin For Cutting U.S. Diplomatic Staff

U.S. President Donald Trump thanked his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, for ordering that hundreds of U.S. diplomatic staff be cut in Russia -- saying he was trying to reduce payroll anyway. He was speaking in Bedminster, New Jersey, on August 10. Putin ordered the cut last month in response to the U.S. expulsion of 35 Russian diplomats. The were sent home following allegations that the Kremlin meddled in the U.S. presidential election. (AP)
