Uzbekistan's Anti-Corruption Agency said on February 10 that the chief of the State Pharmacy Agency, Sardor Kariev, and several of his subordinates have been arrested over the deaths of 20 children in December allegedly caused by a medicine imported from India. The officials are suspected of financial fraud, embezzlement, and importing low-quality medicines to Uzbekistan.
