In Yemen, Nine Suspected Al-Qaeda Members Killed

Nine suspected militants with ties to Al-Qaeda were reported killed in U.S. drone strikes in Yemen.

Local media reported that three separate drone strikes were carried out late on January 19 in the central Marib Province.

Two of the militants were believed to be from Saudi Arabia.

The latest raids bring to at least 23 the number of people killed in U.S. drone strikes in Yemen in the past month.

Washington has intensified its cooperation with the Yemeni government's campaign against the country's Al-Qaeda branch, which it regards as the most active division of the global militant network.
