Armenia's prime minister has asked Russian President Vladimir Putin for help in releasing dozens of prisoners of war captured by Azerbaijan during last year’s brief war over Nagorno-Karabakh.
Armenian President Serzh Sarkisian and Azerbaijan's Ilham Aliev spoke one-on-one for more than two hours in total, before and after being joined by their foreign ministers and the U.S., Russian, and French mediators co-chairing the OSCE Minsk Group.
Negotiations on the size and terms of the assistance have been going on since Armenian authorities asked Moscow for a "stabilization credit" late last year.
