U.K. Police Search Homes In Blast Probe

12 July 2005 (RFE/RL) -- Police in Britain say they have searched a number of homes in connection with last week's bomb attacks in London.

Police spokesmen said officers searched five homes in northeast England today, but made no arrests.

Attackers killed at least 52 people after bombs were detonated on three London underground trains and a double-decker bus on 7 July.

Also today, British Defense Secretary John Reid said a ban on U.S. military personnel traveling to London is "being urgently reviewed."

Thousands of U.S. Air Force personnel at two bases in the east of England had been ordered by their commanders to stay away from the capital because of security concerns.
