Internship opportunity in HR Learning & Development

If you wish to make a difference in places where free media is under threat or does not exist, RFE/RL offers eligible, qualified students the opportunity to engage with professionals and learn more about our mission. In doing so, you would acquire direct, practical experience with the support of a mentor. Internships are a competitive process and are unpaid. We offer skills development and an opportunity to contribute to an exciting media project.

Our Learning and Development Team is looking for a Prague-based intern to assist with ongoing projects, preferably starting in January 2025. The selected intern is expected to contribute 16-20 hours per week, and the internship is ideally expected to last three months.

Internship Learning Outcomes:

  • Understanding the organizational structure and mission of RFE/RL
  • Gaining insight into the work of the Learning and Development Team
  • Learning about the non-journalism training program and mandatory courses
  • Assisting in the preparation of educational events, lectures, and training sessions

Expected Duties:

  • Assisting with feedback collection, statistics, and analysis of the HR L&D non-journalism training
  • Reviewing the language learning program at RFE/RL and preparing for the new academic year
  • Learning about the functions and procedures of HR units
  • Assisting with the RFE/RL internship program
  • Helping with other administrative tasks as needed Minimum

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled university student or recent graduate in good standing
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory
  • Knowledge of Czech and/or Russian is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills and a professional attitude when engaging with employees
  • Ability to multitask, work effectively in a team, and manage time
  • Good organizational skills
  • Interest and awareness of news and current affairs related to RFE/RL’s broadcast regions
