Relatives Of Murdered Afghan Woman Call Verdict Unjust
An Afghan court has sentenced four men to death for participating in the mob killing of a young woman named Farkhunda in Kabul in March. Eight others were sentenced to long prison terms, police officers accused of failing to intervene are awaiting their verdicts, and another 18 defendants were found not guilty due to lack of evidence. Following the verdict, RFE/RL's Afghan Service spoke to Farkhunda's father and brother, who said that justice had not been served when so many suspects were able to walk free.
