Putin Discusses Future Of Russian Base In Kyrgyzstan

Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Bishkek for a meeting with his Kyrgyz counterpart, Almazbek Atambaev. After a formal welcoming ceremony, Putin said that if Kyrgyzstan's defense forces become stronger, Russia would close down its Kant air base there. (RFE/RL's Kyrgyz Service)
