Kazakh Journalist Released From Prison

Authorities in Kazakhstan have released journalist Seitqazy Mataev from prison. The 63-year-old former chief of the Kazakh Journalists' Union was serving a six-year sentence for tax evasion and embezzlement, but he said the charges against him were politically motivated. (RFE/RL's Kazakh Service)
