Crowds in Russia's Daghestan region were on their feet since the early morning of October 7 to watch a televised duel in which native son Khabib Nurmagomedov fought for a world-champion title in mixed martial arts. People gathered inside a sports hall and in the streets in the regional capital, Makhachkala, to celebrate Nurmagomedov's victory in Las Vegas over Irish contender Conor McGregor.
