Former U.S. Ambassador Warns Troop Pullout Could Spark 'Civil War' In Afghanistan

Former U.S. Ambassador James Cunningham has warned that Afghanistan could be plunged into civil war if the United States withdraws its forces before a meaningful peace deal is reached with the Taliban. Speaking to RFE/RL correspondent Frud Bezhan from Washington, D.C., Cunningham said a worst-case scenario would see the collapse of the Afghan government and return to civil conflict.
