Najiba Noor Delawari grew up in an Afghan village under Taliban rule, and her own father belonged to the extremist group. After he cut ties with the militants and the family fled to the provincial capital, Delawari joined the police force. Now she's the first woman to serve as a district police chief in the northern Afghan city of Sheberghan.
