Freed From Prison In The Donbas, Journalist Joins Ukrainian Forces On Front Lines

Stanislav Aseyev, a former RFE/RL contributor, was held captive by Russia-backed separatists in Ukraine's Donbas region for 2 1/2 years. After being freed in a prisoner swap, he returned to writing and launched a foundation to investigate war crimes. But Aseyev decided that he could do the most good for his country as an enlisted soldier.
