Afghan Activists Reenact Mob Killing On Stage In Protest Against Violence
Activists performed a dramatization of the killing of Farkhunda, a young woman who was beaten to death by a mob, on an outdoor stage in Kabul on April 27. The performance, held near the site of the killing, was part of a protest against violence at which the activists called for the swift prosecution of Farkhunda's attackers. The mob killing in March was apparently prompted by false accusations that Farkhunda, a 27-year-old Islamic law student, had burned a copy of the Koran. More than 40 people have been arrested in connection with the attack. (RFE/RL's Radio Free Afghanistan)
