Former FBI Director Accuses White House Of 'Lies'
Former FBI Director James Comey accused the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump of telling "lies" about him and the organization he once led. During testimony before the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee in Washington, D.C. on June 8, Comey said the Trump administration "chose to defame me" by saying the FBI was in disarray. Before being fired by President Trump on May 9, Comey had been overseeing a criminal investigation into suspected Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. presidential election and potential ties to the Trump campaign.
