Scuffles Accompany Georgia's Presidential Inauguration
Georgian police prevented a convoy of opposition supporters from reaching the historic town of Telavi, where the winner of November's presidential runoff, Salome Zurabishvili, was to be sworn in on December 16. Georgia's opposition is refusing to accept the results of the presidential election. Scuffles broke out in the village of Mukuzani as protesters tried to force their way through police ranks and reach Telavi.
