'Creepy' And 'Scary': People Leaving Kazakhstan Describe The Mood

At a crossing on the Kazakh-Russian border, travelers described the mood after days of violence and a Russian-led military intervention in Kazakhstan. Some were fearful, others complained about the Internet blackout and high-level corruption that fueled anti-government protests. It's not clear how many people died: An initial official report said there were 164 deaths but this was later denied.
