Pakistan's military says gunmen killed 14 soldiers in an ambush in southwestern Pakistan today.
The military said the gunmen attacked a convoy of the paramilitary Frontier Corps traveling in Baluchistan Province, killing the soldiers.
Another 10 soldiers were wounded in the attack.
A Baluchi militant group, the Baluchistan Liberation Army, claimed responsibility for the attack.
A spokesman for the group said 40 soldiers were killed.
Baluchi militants have been waging an insurgency against the government for decades, demanding greater independence and a larger share of the province's natural resources.
