Despite protests, officials in the Bulgarian capital, Sofia, vow to press ahead with plans to dismantle and move the capital's Monument to the Soviet Army. Soviet monuments in several parts of Central and Eastern Europe have been attacked or dismantled since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
