Erdogan Wins Turkish Presidency

Outgoing Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has won Turkey's first direct presidential election with some 52 percent of the vote. Erdogan addressed supporters in the capital, Ankara, late on August 10 outside the headquarters of his Justice and Development Party (AKP). He is set to be inaugurated on August 28. (Reuters)
