Russian Woman Welcomes Ukrainian Troops In Liberated Village

Valentina is from Siberia, but she welcomed Ukrainian troops as liberators when they recaptured the village where she lives in southern Ukraine with bowls of hot borscht. Despite her Russian heritage, the soup is, she insists, the Ukrainian version of the dish, which is popular in several countries in the region.
